When discussing any thing with someone, there are 3 ways of viewing the thing. Your view, the other person's view and (perhaps, the most correct view of them all) an impersonal or third-person perspective.
Research is way of life - being inquisitive, diligent and then most importantly, at the end of the day, sharing your findings and learnings with others.
To know what is the just right thing to do in a situation. To sense this, requires wordly knowledge. Once known, next step is the implementation while trying to not overstep the line (refer last post). As with anything and everything, one step follows the next naturally.
